I was inspired to paint this original painting, on my many walks along the canal near my house with my little dog. I always pass the most beautiful garden that trips down to the canal and has ducks and swans waddling around on the grass. I always imagine who it is that lives there and this painting is the result of those imaginings!!

This image came to me in a dream (honest). I woke up and sketched it quickly. Two grandparents and their grandchild visit a colourful aviary full of parrots.

A lady sits on her deck filled with flowers. Her little dog sits on her lap looking up at the blue tits in the tree. A perfect summery scene that reminds me of days when I get to sit in my garden with a good book, cuppa and a piece of cake. The painting is loosely base on the deck in my garden which backs on to woodland here in Surrey UK. We get an abundance of wildlife and have a family of blue tits that return to the nesting box on the tree above our deck every year.
The only difference being that my little dog would never sit as nicely on my lap as the dog in the picture is....she'd been zooming around trying to catch the birds instead.

When I was on holiday in France with my family a few years ago, we were sitting in a cafe enjoying a drink, when the most wonderfully potty lady walked past. She was wearing an outfit straight out of the 1940's and was pushing an old Silvercross pram. In the pram were three little chihuahuas, all wearing different coloured net ruffs around their necks. I couldn't believe my eyes and quickly grabbed for my sketchbook. I've now finally popped her in to this painting! Painted on canvas board and varnished for protection!

This painting was inspired by a trip to France with my family. We stayed in a beautiful farm house that was surrounded by fields of sunflowers. The view was breathtaking. Whilst we were in France I saw so many people riding around on scooters too....so I decided to combine my two lasting memories of our trip in this fun painting.
